Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide essential front-office and clinical support in a fast-paced practice. You will assist physicians with minor in-office procedures, take vitals, manage records in the EMR, and ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, MA program completion or 1+ year clinical experience, and familiarity with Microsoft 365. CMA/RMA certification is a plus; travel to local offices may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Medical Assistant Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other Duties May Be Assigned)

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
