Medical Assistant/Telephone Triage
Suburban Endocrinology and Diabetes Center is seeking a compassionate, organized, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing team. If you are passionate about patient care and enjoy working in a fast-paced specialty practice, we'd love to hear from you!
Position Summary/ Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and providers during patient visits.
- Process prescription refill requests.
- Complete medication prior authorizations.
- Answer incoming patient phone calls and return patient messages promptly.
- Coordinate and order laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
- Educate and train patients on Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices.
- Administer injections as directed by providers.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC experience preferred).
- Coordinate with pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare providers.
- Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (or equivalent clinical experience).
- Previous experience in an endocrinology or primary care practice is a plus.
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records is preferred.
- Knowledge of diabetes management, insulin therapy, and CGM devices is an advantage (training provided).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
