Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support in a healthcare setting, assisting with patient care, vaccination administration, and other medical procedures. This role requires at least 2 years of experience, certification as a Medical Assistant, and BLS certification. The Medical Assistant will work collaboratively with healthcare providers and staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care, including pediatric and adult patient populations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer vaccinations, including pediatric immunizations, following established schedules.
- Prepare and maintain patient records and charting using Cerner electronic medical records system.
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and patient education.
- Support clinic operations by managing supplies and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Float to different areas within the facility as required to meet operational needs.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Medical Assistant certification from one of the following: AAMA, AMT, NHA, ARMA, NCCT, or NRCMA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience or 5 years with certification and BLS.
- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Medical Assisting (transcripts required prior to start).
- Experience with pediatric patients, including vaccination administration and knowledge of pediatric vaccination schedules.
- Ability to chart in Cerner electronic medical records system.
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Local candidates preferred.
- Experience in both adult and pediatric patient care.
Special Considerations:
- No weekend or holiday return to office (RTO) requirements.
- Mandatory float within the facility as needed.
- Maximum of 5 days RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days, excluding holidays and weekends.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Scheduling:
- Full-time schedule, 40 hours per week.
- Shift hours: Monday 10:00 AM 6:30 PM, Tuesday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, Wednesday 10:00 AM 6:30 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM.
