Job summary

Community-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers, radiologic technologists, and patients in a fast-paced, patient-facing setting. You will handle check-in to discharge tasks, ensure efficient care experiences, and thrive in a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates are organized, service-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a busy clinic. Certification, BLS, and a high school diploma are required at hire, with opportunities for development and community impact.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certification is REQUIRED at time of hire.
  • Accepted certifications include: CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA); CMA - Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or CHP); RMA - Registered Medical Assistant (AMT, AAH, or ARMA); NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT); NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NAHP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) - required at hire
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility
  • Room patients and prepare them for examination
  • Record medical history and vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.)
  • Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG)
  • Assist providers during patient visits and communicate patient needs
  • Process co-pays and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms and front desk areas
  • Manage medical records, documentation, and patient communications
  • Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
  • Support daily clinic operations including opening/closing duties
