Job summary

LUX Infusion is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the clinical infusion team. This role involves patient intake, preparing treatment areas, coordinating patient flow, and maintaining efficient operations in a fast-paced infusion center.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to outstanding patient care. Schedule: 8:30am to 5pm. Prior MA experience and CMA/RMA certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for infusion treatments with a welcoming, professional environment.
  • Obtain and document patient vitals, medical history, and medication information.
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Prepare infusion suites with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate EMR observations and patient records.
  • Educate patients on procedures with supervision of a nurse or provider.
  • Support scheduling, insurance form verification, and patient follow-ups.
  • Monitor and restock medical supplies, ensuring proper inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, compliant clinical environment and adhere to infection control.
  • Coordinate with nurses and providers to ensure smooth patient care.
  • Assist with patient triage and urgent concerns routing.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development.

Education

Job Description:

The Medical Assistant (MA) plays an essential role in supporting the clinical infusion team. This position is responsible for assisting with patient intake, preparing treatment areas, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring overall efficiency within the infusion center. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and dedicated to providing outstanding patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Schedule: 8:30am to 5pm

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare environment required
  • Strong understanding of medical procedures, patient care, and documentation
  • Excellent time management, communication, interpersonal communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Skills with prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Proficiency with problem resolution
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program preferred
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Prior professional Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Prior infusion environment experience preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet and prepare patients for their infusion treatments, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, and medication information.
  • Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Prepare infusion suites by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Educate patients on procedures, answering basic questions under the supervision of a nurse or provider.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance forms, and managing patient follow-ups.
  • Monitor and restock medical supplies, ensuring proper inventory levels.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment, following infection control protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient care coordination.
  • Assist with patient triage, directing urgent concerns to the appropriate clinical team members.
  • Follow all HIPAA guidelines and maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Nurse Practitioner or Director of Clinical Operations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.

  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a healthcare team.
Communication Skills

Pay Range/Rate

$25 - $27 USD
