Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• At least one year of verifiable Medical Assistant experience in a patient care setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care activities under the direction of the physician or APP.
• Gather patient data through interviews and observation.
• Prepare patients and families for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers during exams and clinical procedures.
• Administer approved medications and perform routine treatments per scope of practice.
• Document patient information, treatments, procedures, and education in the electronic medical record.
• Enter medication, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging orders as directed by providers.
• Manage inbound and outbound phone calls using sound clinical judgment.
• Coordinate scheduling for specialty testing and provider referrals.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and operations teams.
• Support infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with all organizational, clinical, and regulatory standards.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required
• Current Medical Assistant certification or registration from one of the following (or equivalent):
  • CMA (AAMA)
  • CCMA (NHA)
  • RMA (AMT or equivalent)
  • NCMA (NCCT)
  • NRCMA/NRCAMA (NAHP)
  • Other recognized MA certifications considered on a case-by-case basis
