Job summary

Texas Spine Consultants is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our pain management practice. The role includes taking patient histories, assisting with examinations, preparing supplies, scribing for the provider, and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification, 1–2 years of medical office experience, strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Qualifications

• Must possess Certified Medical Assistant credential (CMA).
• Experience in a medical office environment preferred.
• Scribe experience is a plus and helpful for provider support.

Essential Functions

• Answers phones.
• Scribing for the provider.
• Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
• Greets patients and takes them back to rooms.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information on patient's charts.
• May be required to collect urine samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares examination rooms and maintains daily cleaning list.
• Filling out procedure consents.
• Schedules patients for their special procedures with the ASC centers.
• Formulates and documents patient care plans, charts, tests and examination results in the medical record.
• Escalates non-routine issues to the Office Manager or Physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Office Manager or Physician.

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant: 1 year (Required)
• Scribe Experience is a Plus
• Medical office: 2 years (Required)
• Pain Management: 2 years (Preferred)
• Relevant: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification
