Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Consultant - Medicaid to lead advisory engagements with state and local Medicaid agencies. You will shape client strategy, oversee scoping, execution, and delivery, and collaborate with delivery, BD, and sales teams.

In this role you will provide strategic operational and policy guidance, design reform initiatives, and lead financial and performance analyses to improve program outcomes. Strong leadership and communication with senior government stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 7+ years of experience in Medicaid programs or consulting.
• Experience leading Medicaid consulting engagements and engaging with senior Medicaid executives.
• Strong executive communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of federal and state Medicaid financing and policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead advisory engagements from initial discussions through scoping, execution, and delivery.
• Develop workplans, governance structures, and deliverables aligned to client needs.
• Provide senior oversight to ensure delivery quality and client satisfaction.
• Recruit and oversee consulting team members to support engagements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to strengthen go-to-market strategies and expand offerings.
