Job summary

Nevada Health Authority seeks a Social Services Program Specialist 2 in Reno, Carson City, or Las Vegas. Under supervision, you will interpret Medicaid/CHIP regulations, draft state plan sections, and coordinate with related agencies to ensure program compliance and quality.

The role involves analyzing data, preparing reports, and assisting in resolving complex eligibility issues while supporting system enhancements and staff training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing social services to clients or program development and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing medical assistance programs, services, or healthcare services to clients or program compliance and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations.
• One year of experience as a Social Services Program Specialist I in Nevada State service.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply complex Medicaid and CHIP regulations.
• Draft and revise portions of the Medicaid and CHIP State Plan and related policies.
• Coordinate with other department staff and sister agencies on E&E operations.
• Support E&E system needs and validate system changes.
• Provide technical assistance, training, and clarification to agency staff.
• Analyze data and prepare reports related to E&E.
• Assist in resolving complex eligibility issues.
• Monitor program quality and effectiveness in alignment with federal and State requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a field pertinent to the program assignment

One year of professional experience providing social services to clients or program development and evaluation

One year of experience as a Social Services Program Specialist I in Nevada State service

Equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
