Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II (MAGI) in Sumter County to determine and redetermine Medicaid eligibility in accordance with state policies. The role requires collecting and evaluating applicant documentation to establish individual and family eligibility, and completing all determinations and reviews with accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; relevant program experience in customer services, social services, human services, and/or Medicaid processing.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for required program experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine and re-determine Medicaid eligibility according to policies and procedures.
• Collect and evaluate documentation from applicants to determine eligibility.
• Complete eligibility determinations, reviews, and changes accurately and timely.
• Document notes and steps in the system for review and hand-off.
