Job summary

City of New York is seeking six Medicaid Eligibility Specialists for the Home Care Services Program Medicaid Eligibility Unit. Responsibilities include reviewing Medicaid applications and renewals for HCSP recipients, using WMS and external systems to process actions, and ensuring eligibility decisions comply with NYC, NYS, and federal guidelines.

Applicants should have 30 college credits or a high school diploma with experience in public assistance or related fields.

Qualifications

• Completion of 30 semester credits at an accredited college or university.
• A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in relevant work.
• A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Review Medicaid applications and renewals for HCSP consumers.
• Process case actions using WMS, EDITS Plus, HRA One Viewer, and eMedNY.
• Determine if additional documents or referrals are needed to decide eligibility.
• Consult with supervisors on complex cases to meet strict timeframes.
