Job summary

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an experienced physician leader to serve as Medical Director for the Division of Medicaid and Long-Term Care. The Medical Director provides strategic clinical leadership to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based care for Nebraska's Medicaid members.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Nebraska license or eligible to obtain one.
• Board certification in a recognized specialty.
• Progressive physician leadership experience in a health system or plan.
• Experience with Medicaid, managed care, and health policy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior clinical leader for Nebraska Medicaid and related programs.
• Lead clinical quality strategy, policy, utilization management, and population health initiatives.
• Provide executive clinical oversight for Rural Health Transformation Program initiatives.
• Advise MLTC executive leadership on healthcare policy and strategic planning.
• Represent Nebraska Medicaid with providers, MCOs, CMS, and state partners.
• Ensure clinical integrity through medical policy oversight and quality initiatives.
