The Medicaid Eligibility Advocate at HCA Healthcare is responsible for conducting eligibility screenings and assessing patient financial requirements, while counseling patients on insurance benefits and co-payments. The role acts as a liaison between the patient, hospital, and governmental agencies to support comprehensive case management.

You will verify benefits, obtain authorizations, collect documentation, complete applications, and maintain timely follow-up with patients and agencies.

Formación

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum one-year related experience preferred, preferably in healthcare.
• Relevant education may substitute experience requirement.

Responsabilidades

• Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage, federal and state assistance programs, or hospital charity applications.
• Re-verifies benefits and obtains authorization and/or referral after treatment plan has been discussed.
• Obtain legally relevant medical evidence, physician statements and required documentation for eligibility determination.
• Complete and file applications and maintain follow-up with patients and government caseworkers.
• Ensure all insurance, demographic and eligibility info is entered into the system; document progress notes.

Educación

Associate’s degree preferred
