Job summary

Gray Media, Inc. (Raycom Sports) seeks a Content & Transmission Manager to lead transmission, media ingest/delivery, and quality control from the Charlotte Operations Center.

This role entails coordinating Satellite, Fiber and IP transmission, managing staff and vendors, and developing SOPs for media workflows. The position requires hands-on expertise in broadcast hardware/software, IT process knowledge, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience in broadcast engineering and/or remote production.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset.
• Effective communication and vendor management skills.
• Proficient in broadcast and production hardware and software.
• Working knowledge of IT processes, including network security, workflow, and network management.
• Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency on-call.
• Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate Satellite, Fiber and IP Transmission & Distribution, including file transfers
• Manage all transmission operations, including freelance staffing, scheduling, and vendor relationships
• Create and manage master transmission schedule
• Oversee multiple forms of media ingest and delivery from Tape, Satellite, Cable, IP streams, and file-based media
• Develop standard operating procedures and processes for media transmission and transfer
• Oversee Media File organization and maintenance
• Assist the Engineering Team with production setup, Equipment installation, and Maintenance
• Research and recommend new equipment and technologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of production operations
• Flexible work schedule including working days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency on-call
