Description

The Media Technician works directly with Faculty, staff and students in support of all media technology required to maintain and operate audio-visual equipment in public conference rooms and meeting spaces in the institution.


Responsibilities

1. Provides teaching podium support for Powerpoint presentations; monitors lighting and other environmental issues in auditorium and makes adjustments as necessary.

2. Operates large format LCD projection and other media systems.

3. Provides audio support with ancillary microphone requirements including monitoring and adjustment of audio and general program levels.

4. Provides audio capture duties.

5. Diagnoses and evaluates technical problems and recommends the most cost and time efficient methodology of repair.

6. Consults with departments and users regarding planned use of audio-visual equipment and presentation/audience requirements.

7. Instructs users in proper use of equipment as necessary.

8. May orient, train and mentor less experienced technicians.

9. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • One year technical electronic training, or any combination of training and experience from which comparable knowledge can be acquired
  • 18 months of related experience, repairing audiovisual equipment

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $29.2168 - $31.6491 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
