Qualifications

• Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for EYF’s mission.
• Live sound production experience including digital sound consoles, signal flow, EQ, compression, routing, monitors, and gain structure.
• Setting up and operating microphones, instruments, DI/stage boxes, speakers, subwoofers, monitors, wireless equipment, and troubleshooting audio/production issues.
• Experience supporting worship services, concerts, youth programs, conferences, camps, and other live events, including soundcheck, live production, teardown, stage lighting, ProPresenter, and AV presentation systems.
• Ability to work with musicians, vocalists, choirs, worship teams, speakers, staff, students, volunteers, and production professionals, while teaching basic concepts.

JOB TITLE: Media Tech Specialist

REPORTS TO: Music and Worship Ministry Director

STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part-Time

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:

Since 1991, Emerald Youth Foundation has worked to support Knoxville’s youth and prepare generations of Godly community leaders. Emerald Youth has engaged more than 30,000 children and young adults in a variety of community programs over nearly three decades. Every year, Emerald Youth serves more than 3,000 children, teens and young adults in the heart of Knoxville through faith, learning and health programs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Media Tech Specialist helps develop students interested in live production, worship technology, and media and may also assist Emerald Youth's Worship Arts ministry by providing audio, lighting, presentation, and production support for worship gatherings, student programming, rehearsals, and special events. This role will help show young people how they can share the love of Christ and serve others through creating effective ministry and worship experiences.

PREREQUISITES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high moral standards.
• Live Audio & Sound Engineering: Previous experience in live sound production and audio engineering, including digital sound consoles (Behringer or comparable), signal flow, EQ, compression, routing, monitors, and gain structure.
• Equipment Setup & Troubleshooting: Skilled in setting up and operating microphones, instruments, DI/stage boxes, speakers, subwoofers, monitors, in-ear systems, wireless equipment, and troubleshooting audio/production issues.
• Live Event & Media Production: Experience supporting worship services, concerts, youth programs, conferences, camps, and other live events, including soundcheck, live production, teardown, stage lighting, ProPresenter, and AV presentation systems.
• Teamwork & Training: Ability to work effectively with musicians, vocalists, choirs, worship teams, speakers, staff, students, volunteers, and production professionals, while teaching basic audio, media, and production concepts.
• Music Production Plus: Experience with music production or studio environments- including DAWs, multitrack recording, editing/mixing, MIDI, playback tracks/stems, and basic recording concepts- is a plus but not required.

SCHEDULE:

Primarily weekday afternoons and evenings with an occasional weekend. Up to 6-10 hours per week, depending on student enrollment and seasonal activity.
