Job summary

bioMérieux in Missouri is seeking a Production Technician to prepare media and sub components, set up dispensing systems, and perform CIP operations to ensure timely, high‑quality product delivery to Card production.

You will label and store media per specifications, verify equipment calibration, and assist with end‑of‑lot documentation while maintaining accurate records and following safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

2+ years of wet chemistry or bench work experience.
Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform all work in the Production Department in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies.
Prepare media and sub components with high accuracy to meet production schedules.
Set up and verify dispensing systems; maintain CIP operations.
Label, store, and verify media in accordance with regulatory specifications.
Ensure equipment calibration and perform start‑up/shut‑down procedures.
Maintain inventory of lab supplies and ensure FEFO stock management.

Job description

Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare Vitek susceptibility and identification media and/or sub components, dispensing system setup/verifications, ensuring timely delivery of high quality product to Card production, prepare Clean-In-Place solutions, being current on training including curriculum procedures, work station organization and cleaning, establishing a safe work environment, housekeeping and maintenance functions in the production department.

Primary Duties

Perform all work in the Production Department in a safe manner in accordance with the company policy and/or procedure.

Perform and document complex manufacturing steps and verification as described in company procedures\policies for the following, but not limited to:

Ensure Media and/or sub component preparation is completed with a high level of accuracy in a timely manner for prompt product delivery based on production schedule.

Filtrations – including checks to ensure that all filters are functioning properly and per procedure.

Verify that all media is appropriately labeled, manufactured, and stored based on all regulatory and Master Formulary specifications.

Proper Equipment (steam kettles, etc) operation and Clean-In-Place (CIP) operation.

Media dispense setup with a high level of speed and accuracy (setting the pump dispense volume, placing the dispense head and verifying connections and bag numbering).

Assist with end of lot documentation review for Device History Record - Master Formulary, etc. All documentation practices are to follow all appropriate procedures\policies.

Report scheduling or availability issues with product planned for manufacture in MES to management or scheduler. Remain flexible in to abrupt changes in day to day due to unplanned changes.

Inspect and ensure all equipment is calibrated and in working order before performing any manufacturing task. Management of any items found in need of repair immediately to prevent production delays. Perform start up and shut down procedures for the Lab equipment as described in company procedures\policies.

Maintain adequate inventories of general lab supplies and inform department’s designated purchasing resource when additional items are required.

Maintain FEFO for all long-term stocks, broths and chemical components.

Participate in new product development and assist with new product transition to production from R&D and Industrialization as required.

Reasonable, reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential job function required for this position.

Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education, Training and Experience

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

2+ years of Wet chemistry and/or bench work experience

Preferred Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field Biology/Chemistry

Knowledge of sterile techniques and general laboratory procedures.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods.

Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

May be exposed to and require the handling of antibiotics and hazardous materials.

May be exposed to odors incurred during media production.

May be required to work extended and/or overtime hours.

The pay for this role in the state of Missouri is $23.00/hr. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
