A leading communication organization is seeking a Media Monitor to support its campaigns. This fully remote role involves tracking media coverage, editing video content, and engaging with social media to promote health care advocacy efforts. Protect Our Care is seeking a detail-oriented and media-savvy Media Monitor to join our team. This position plays a critical role in supporting our communications and rapid response efforts by tracking, editing, and distributing media coverage relevant to our campaigns and mission.
Protect Our Care is the communications, organizing, rapid response, research and messaging center in the fight for health care, and we work closely with our partners across the country to ensure all Americans have affordable, quality health care. We’re fighting everyday to make health care a right, not a privilege for all Americans.
Responsibilities:
Use TVEyes and other media tracking tools to monitor national and local news coverage related to health care issues and Protect Our Care’s priority campaigns.
Clip and edit video segments from live and recorded television and online sources.
Create short, engaging video clips optimized for social media platforms.
Draft concise and compelling social media copy to accompany video content.
Collaborate closely with the communications team to support rapid response needs and identify key moments to amplify.
Maintain organized archives of relevant video clips and media coverage.
Monitor trends in media and social platforms to help identify opportunities for engagement.
Qualifications:
Proven experience with TVEyes or similar media monitoring platforms.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
Strong writing skills and experience writing for social media platforms, especially Twitter and Facebook.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, breaking news environment.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

This is a fully remote position; however, preference will be given to candidates based in the Washington, DC area due to the collaborative nature of the work and occasional in-person opportunities.
This position reports to the Digital Director. It is fully remote and the salary for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package. Please email your resume to sean@protectourcare.org if you’re interested in this position. FLSA Status: Exempt.
Benefits:
Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
