Job summary

Moelis & Company, a leading global independent investment bank, seeks an Investment Banking Analyst to join the Media practice in Los Angeles. You will support origination and execution through financial analysis, modeling, and client presentations.

You will work with senior bankers across media, sports and entertainment sectors, preparing valuations, conducting company and industry research, and coordinating deal materials under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Relevant investment banking or financial advisory experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance and valuation.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with clear conclusions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support origination activities by developing company analyses and presentation materials.
• Analyze historical and projected financial performance and build models.
• Prepare valuation analyses using comparables, discounted cash flow and precedent transactions.
• Assess the financial implications of mergers and acquisitions to support transaction evaluation and client discussions.
• Support transaction execution through data gathering, financial analysis, preparation of deal materials and documentation, and coordination of process deliverables.
• Conduct company and industry research, including analysis of competitive positioning, market share, shareholder composition and investor profiles.
• Prepare analytical materials supporting internal credit, compliance, engagement committee and balance sheet approvals.
