Job summary

Penta Group, LLC is seeking a Monitoring & Insights Intern to support our Intelligence division across proprietary insights and real-time monitoring services. You will handle large volumes of news and data, producing alerts and briefs for clients and translating findings into clear, actionable insights.

Working with our analysts, you will use industry-leading tools to monitor coverage, create visualizations, and contribute to reports on reputation, topic trends, and stakeholder views.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline; focus on communications, journalism, economics, history, or social science preferred.
• Experience writing analytical reports and creating engaging presentations using Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
• Solid understanding of using Excel for exploratory data analysis and visualization.
• Interest in media, the 24/7 news cycle, and intersection of culture, business, and politics.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Monitor news across print, digital, TV, radio, and social media platforms.
• Collaborate with analysts to alert clients in a timely and effective manner.
• Collect and prepare data to support media analysis and scheduled report deliveries.
• Assist with long-term research projects.
• Create pivot tables from Excel report data.
• Update report graphics and charts for review.
• Write descriptive text to tell the stories behind data.
• Validate and interpret automated scoring from the proprietary platform.
