Job description

JOB GOAL

To use the resources of the Media Center to help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development in becoming "Tomorrow Ready".

Performance Responsibilities

  • Creates and delivers lessons to be implemented at the elementary level.
  • Instructor will implement Computer Science Modules of Project Lead the Way.
  • Embraces a strong foundation of technology and how to use different technology programs.
  • Assists in tracking overdue materials, sends notices, collects fines and sends letters regarding lost items as needed.
  • Assist teachers in locating materials.
  • Works with principals and teachers to maintain books and resources inventory that also aligns with district initiatives and goals.
  • Keeps track of the media center inventory.
  • Organizes and manages the Book Fairs.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly and well-organized media center.
  • Ensures that the Media Center is implementing 504/IEP plans in the Media Center.
  • Ensures a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

180 days per year

Pay: $16.50/hour
