Job summary

New York University’s Avery Fisher Center seeks a Manager Media Collections to oversee acquisitions, processing, and ongoing maintenance of AFC media collections. You will coordinate with CCS, KARMS, and Preservation and supervise union staff and students.

The role requires strong communication, supervision experience, and knowledge of video/audio metadata, MARC, and cataloging practices in an academic setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 2+ years library/media center experience with staff supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with MARC format and video/audio collections.
• Experience with spreadsheets and databases.

Responsibilities

• Manage AFC media collections lifecycle from acquisitions to processing.
• Oversee maintenance of existing media collections.
• Supervise union staff and student employees on projects and workflows.
• Collaborate with CCS, KARMS, Preservation and external stakeholders.
