A leading credit union is seeking a Media Buyer responsible for planning, negotiating, and executing media campaigns across various traditional platforms. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of media buying experience, along with excellent negotiation skills and a strong understanding of marketing strategies.
Overview
Responsible for negotiating and purchasing advertising space on traditional media platforms.Ensures that media campaigns are well coordinated and complement the strategic objectives of the credit union.Evaluate vendor performance and report results to internal management.Assists in managing the approved and designated media budget for the assigned area/market.
Responsibilities1. Media Planning:
a. Collaborate with Media Relations manager to develop media campaign strategies aligned with marketing objectives, target demographic and key results objectives of the credit union.b. Comprehensive understanding of traditional media platforms and capabilities (i.e., Television, Radio, CTV, Digital Audio, OOH, Print)
2. Market Research:
a. Maintain knowledge of market trends, audience data and competitor activity in designated market areas b. Remain apprised of media partner and vendor landscape in designated market areas
3. Buying and Negotiation:
a. Create media buys by analyzing audience demographics, and campaign metrics in designated market areasb. Identify most efficient media placement opportunities within designated market areasc. Effectively negotiate rates and terms with external media vendorsd. Evaluate station sponsorship opportunities and packages
4. Campaign Execution and Management:
a. Create and transmit insertion orders through media buying softwareb. Coordinate with creative and marketing teams to provide all necessary creative specs and ensure creative assets are delivered on timec. Deliver traffic instructions and creative assets to vendors by deadline prior to campaign startd. Manage all orders through to completion, including all makegood offers, added value delivery and traffic changes as needede. Coordinate and manage all sponsorship opportunities with external media vendors and internal teams as neededf. Coordinate with PR team to schedule AFCU representatives for media appearances and interviews as needed
5. Invoice Reconciliation:
a. Reconcile monthly market vendor invoices against media buysb. Resolve any vendor invoice discrepanciesc. Submit all market invoices for approval
6. Campaign Performance Evaluation:
a. Quarterly post analysis of all media buys to evaluate vendor performance and deliveryb. Monthly impression monitoring to ensure on-track deliveryc. Real-time campaign performance monitoring for CTV and Digital Audio campaignsd. Quarterly post-analysis presentation to report outcomes, analysis and trends
QualificationsTraining/Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of Credit Union Products and Services- Understanding of advertising and media standards in local markets- Knowledge and understanding of media buying process including analysis and negotiation- General understanding of marketing and media campaign strategy
Experience Required:
- 3+ Years media buying experience- Experience with Freewheel/Strata media buying software preferred
