Job summary

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring full-time Medi-Car Drivers in Illinois to transport wheelchair-bound individuals to healthcare facilities, labs, and hospitals. You will demonstrate Medi-Car driving skills, provide patient care, and ensure safe, accurate transportation and billing documentation.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, pass required tests, maintain a valid driver’s license, and operate the vehicle in day or night conditions while maintaining the vehicle’s cleanliness

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and speaking English.
• Pass lifting test and map test; complete interview process.
• Possess a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Must be able to safely operate a vehicle in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Move wheelchair-bound individuals in and out of the Medi-Car.
• Provide patient care per Medi-Car training.
• Provide safe transportation and correctly identify street names and addresses.
• Complete documentation for billing information.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues promptly.

Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

Illinois Medi-Car

has immediate openings for full-time drivers to transport wheelchair-bound individuals to healthcare facilities, hospitals, testing laboratories, etc.

Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate adequate levels of skill in all areas required of a Medi-Car Driver, including the ability to move a wheelchair up and down stairs, in and out of the Medi-Car.
• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as a Medi-Car Driver.
• Provide safe transportation, to include accurately discerning street names through map reading, the ability to correctly distinguish house numbers, and addresses of business locations, in the most expedient manner, are essential.
• Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
• Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, in addition to monitoring all fluid levels and gauges, and report all mechanical problems with vehicle immediately.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Must have successfully passed the Company's required lifting test, Map test and successfully completed the interview process.
• Functional communication and writing in the English language.
• Possess a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and must be able to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime and inclement weather

Salary Range

USD $17.00 - USD $21.00 /Hr. rates offered based on years of experience and full time scheduled templates.
