Superior Ambulance Service in Illinois is seeking full-time Medi-Car Drivers to transport wheelchair-bound patients to healthcare facilities, hospitals and testing labs. Candidates must pass lifting and map tests and complete the interview process; a valid driver's license and clean driving record are required, with the ability to operate in varied conditions.

Responsibilities include safe patient transportation, accurate route finding, and proper documentation for billing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Must have successfully passed the Company's required lifting test, Map test and successfully completed the interview process.
• Functional communicate and write in English language.
• Possess a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and must be able to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime and inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Move a wheelchair up and down stairs and into the Medi-Car.
• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in training as a Medi-Car Driver.
• Provide safe transportation and correctly identify street names and addresses for efficient routing.
• Provide documentation for billing information.
• Maintain vehicle sanitation and report mechanical problems promptly.

Superior employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

Illinois Medi-Car

has immediate openings for full-time drivers to transport wheelchair-bound individuals to healthcare facilities, hospitals, testing laboratories, etc.

Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate adequate levels of skill in all areas required of a Medi-Car Driver, including the ability to move a wheelchair up and down stairs, in and out of the Medi-Car.
• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as a Medi-Car Driver.
• Provide safe transportation, to include accurately discerning street names through map reading, the ability to correctly distinguish house numbers, and addresses of business locations, in the most expedient manner, are essential.
• Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
• Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, in addition to monitoring all fluid levels and gauges, and report all mechanical problems with vehicle immediately.

Salary Range

USD $17.95 - USD $21.50 /Hr. rates offered based on years of experience and full time scheduled templates.
