This full-time position is Monday - Friday, with work hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm PST, flexible for team meetings. Occasional overtime may be required.

We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training during normal business hours. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere within the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Billing according to Medi-Cal/Managed Care Plans (California) guidelines
  • Follow up directly with Medi-Cal/Managed Care regarding outstanding claims
  • File appeals directly with Medi-Cal/Managed Care
  • Research customer information on various systems regarding status and payments
  • Contact customers via mail, email, and phone to discuss and negotiate payments
  • Obtain agreement on payment plans within authority and guidelines
  • Prepare and submit reports on outstanding bills and payment settlements
  • Record correspondence and actions within relevant systems
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Medi-Cal/Managed Care account resolution and regulatory requirements
  • Understand Coordination of Benefits for primary and secondary payers

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • At least 1 year of Hospital Medical Collections experience
  • Minimum 6 months experience with Medi-Cal/Managed Care Plans (California)
  • Experience with Medi-Cal/Managed Care claims follow-up
  • Experience contacting insurance companies for claim status and payments
  • Experience using a UB04 form
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and basic computer skills
  • Availability to work Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm PST, with flexibility for meetings and occasional overtime
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of EPIC software

The hourly pay range is $16.88 to $33.22, based on experience and location. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
