The Medi-Cal Eligibility Technician identifies and screens incarcerated individuals for Medi-Cal eligibility while working alongside discharge planners. The role supports new applications, renewals, and reactivations, verifies required documentation, and collaborates with DSS to ensure coverage is active upon release. The position coordinates aid code activation in the JI reentry portal and enters CIN numbers into CorEMR to support billing and continuity of coverage.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Medi-Cal eligibility, public benefits enrollment, or healthcare coverage programs. Candidates should be skilled in reviewing applications, verifying eligibility documentation, resolving coverage barriers, and coordinating with county social services and internal care teams. Strong attention to detail, organization, data entry, and communication skills are essential. Familiarity with CalAIM, justice-involved reentry services, Medi-Cal aid codes, CIN numbers, eligibility portals, and electronic medical record systems is strongly preferred.
