Allina Health is seeking a Financial Assistance Counselor to help patients access state, federal, and hospital programs. You will assess financial need, gather documents, and advocate for enrollment while protecting patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities include educating patients, coordinating with social workers and payment teams, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance across departments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with education/experience to meet required competencies.
• 2+ years customer service, call center, medical, insurance, or collections experience.
• CAC certification in Minnesota within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 1+ year healthcare accounts receivable experience.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients on programs they are eligible for and completes paperwork.
• Consults with hospital staff to verify discharge needs and eligibility.
• Verifies authorized representatives and stores documentation accurately.
• De-escalates patient concerns and handles administrative duties.
