Job summary

Eagle Senior Living is seeking a Medication Technician to join its Assisted Living or Memory Care team in New York. The Med Tech will deliver direct resident care, manage medication distribution, complete assessments, and support caregivers and nursing staff in a compassionate, patient manner.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of related experience, and state-regulated Medication Technician certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of related work experience.
• Medication Technician certification as required by state regulations.
• Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous, patient, and compassionate manner.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and clinical/diagnostic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services, including medication distribution, following each resident's individualized plan of care.
• Perform resident assessments as required by state standards and facility policy.
• Observe residents for changes in condition, document observations and red flags, and communicate timely to supervisors, families, and the next shift.
• Complete and maintain individualized care plans; attend interdisciplinary care meetings.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, restorative nursing techniques, and behavioral support.
• Encourage and assist residents with scheduled activities.
• Support fall prevention and a restraint‑free environment.
• Oversee the medication delivery system, including order entry, MAR documentation, narcotic counts, and pharmacy coordination.
• Assist with orienting, training, and coaching caregivers.
