St. Tammany Parish Hospital is seeking a Med Tech/Med Lab Tech for night shifts in Covington, Louisiana. The role involves preparing specimens, performing clinical lab procedures, and maintaining laboratory equipment under general supervision.
A Bachelor of Science degree and a current Louisiana license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist are required. The ideal candidate should also hold a board certification from ASCP as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
This position offers a schedule of 7 On/Off shifts and a commitment to our organizational standards.
Job Title: Med Tech/Med Lab Tech (Nights)
Location: Covington, Louisiana
Schedule: 7 On/Off Shift (8:00p.m. - 7:00a.m.)
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Availability: Effective 06/04/26
Receives and prepares specimens according to standard protocol and procedures. Performs a variety of moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory procedures according to section requirements and protocols. Performs quality control procedures required for test performance. Calibrates, maintains and monitors laboratory equipment. Works under general supervision, exercising independent judgment and decision‑making. Maintains confidentiality of patient‑related information. Complies with organization’s C.A.R.E.S. standards.
Bachelor of Science degree required.
Current or Temporary Louisiana License as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS‑G).
National Board Certification, ASCP preferred, as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
