Job Title: Med Tech/Med Lab Tech (Nights)

Location: Covington, Louisiana

Schedule: 7 On/Off Shift (8:00p.m. - 7:00a.m.)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Availability: Effective 06/04/26

JOB SUMMARY

Receives and prepares specimens according to standard protocol and procedures. Performs a variety of moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory procedures according to section requirements and protocols. Performs quality control procedures required for test performance. Calibrates, maintains and monitors laboratory equipment. Works under general supervision, exercising independent judgment and decision‑making. Maintains confidentiality of patient‑related information. Complies with organization’s C.A.R.E.S. standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science degree required.

Current or Temporary Louisiana License as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS‑G).

National Board Certification, ASCP preferred, as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Good physical health, including standing, sitting, or walking for long periods.
• Lifting at least 50 pounds (except lifting overhead, weight limited to 10 pounds).
• Work with moderate levels of noise.
• Physical effort: Constant (67%-100%) – handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing; Frequently (34%-66%) – reaching; Occasionally (1%-33%) – lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching.
