Med Tech I - Generalist/Core and Blood Bank/ Overnights/ Sign on Bonus of up to 10K!!!

Join Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System, as a Med Tech I - Generalist/Core and Blood Bank/ Overnights. This part-time role is based in Plainsboro and offers a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Med Tech Generalist with a strong background in Core Lab and Blood Bank departments, and some experience in Microbiology, including molecular testing. The shift hours are overnight, from 11 pm to 7:30 am, every other weekend and holiday.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex study procedures in assigned clinical sections
  • Operate automated instrumentation and techniques independently
  • Interpret complex test results and troubleshoot instrument/serologic issues
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards
  • Assist with QC/PM programs and staff training
  • Participate in QA and proficiency testing programs
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in LIS
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned and support the department's goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, biological, or laboratory science/medical technology (required)
  • Preferred experience in Microbiology, Hematology, or Chemistry laboratories
  • Certifications such as MLT (ASCP), MT (ASCP), or MLS (ASCP) are preferred; eligibility to take certification within one year is acceptable
