Job summary

Monarch Communities in Englishtown, NJ is seeking a Med Tech to provide medication administration and resident care under RN/LPN supervision. This hourly role supports full-time, part-time, and per diem schedules and requires active CNA or HHA licensure in New Jersey.

You will maintain accurate medical records, assist residents according to care plans, and uphold HIPAA compliance while delivering compassionate, respectful care.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Medication Technician training and competency testing.
• Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with State Regs.
• Must have active CNA or HHA NJ license.
• Minimum six months of experience working with seniors in related care settings.

Responsibilities

The Med Tech will report to the Director of Health & Wellness. The Med Tech is a non-exempt, hourly position.

Hourly rate

Hourly rate: $23

Full-time, Part-time and Per diem available, must have active CNA and/or HHA NJ license.

Job Overview

Responsible for providing quality care and services to all residents and their families. Provide assistance of medication administration for residents according to their care plan and physician’s orders.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Administer and/or assist with self-administration of prescribed medication to residents and maintain related medical records under the supervision of the RN and/or LPN.
• Complete required annual medication training.
• Provide resident care to ensure care needs are met according to the resident’s care plan.
• Maintain medical records and written documentation assuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with federal and state regulations, certification standards, legal and ethical standards.
• Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents in the delivery of services to them.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Medication Technician training and periodic competency testing.
• Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with State Regs.
• Strong Communication Skills.
• Observes & reports changes in residents’ physical condition, cognition & emotional status to Supervisor.
• Knowledge of, and ability to, adhere to HIPAA policies.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) months experience working with seniors in Personal Care, Home Health, Hospital, or Long-Term Care environment.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Abilities

• While performing duties, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
• An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight up to 50 lbs. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents. The associate must use proper body mechanics.
