Job summary

The Oaks at Muskegon, part of Trinity Health Senior Communities, is seeking a dedicated Med Tech/Caregiver for part-time day shifts. You will administer medications and provide hands-on daily care under supervision, ensuring safety, dignity, and engagement for residents on individualized care plans.

A 3-day onboarding program is provided, with potential for growth and ongoing professional development within the Trinity Health network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Medication Aide or Med Tech credential (state-specific) is required.
• CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols is preferred.
• Previous assisted living/geriatric care experience (1+ year) is preferred.
• Ability to lift and transfer residents safely; physical stamina for standing and walking.
• Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Administer oral/topical medications following physician orders and the Five Rights procedure.
• Maintain, reconcile, and audit MARs; perform controlled substance counts.
• Take vital signs and conduct basic tests; provide wound care and coordinate with nursing staff.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, mobility, and feeding.
• Maintain clean, safe resident rooms and common areas; assist with chores and supplies.
• Document care and report changes to nursing staff; communicate with families.
• Uphold HIPAA and comply with state/federal assisted living standards.
