Job summary

The Oaks in Muskegon, MI, part of Trinity Health Senior Communities, seeks a Part-time Med Tech/Caregiver to provide medication administration, daily living assistance, and basic clinical care under supervision, with a 3-day training program to begin within weeks.

Responsibilities include vital signs, wound care, safety, documentation, and compassionate resident engagement, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and support for family communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medication Aide or Med Tech credential (state-specific).
• 1+ year of experience in assisted living, memory care, or geriatric care.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols.
• Valid CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to lift/transfers residents safely; physical stamina for standing and walking.
• Excellent communication skills; compassionate, respectful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Medication Management: Administer oral/topical meds per physician orders and the Five Rights; maintain MARs; conduct controlled substance counts.
• Clinical Care & Monitoring: Take vital signs; perform basic tests; provide wound care; coordinate with nursing staff.
• Daily Living Assistance: Aid with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transferring, mobility, and feeding.
• Environmental Care & Safety: Keep rooms and common areas clean; safety checks; light housekeeping and stocking supplies.
• Engagement & Communication: Encourage activities and document changes; communicate with families and staff.
• Compliance & Documentation: Uphold HIPAA; maintain current charts and temperature logs.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

CPR/BLS certification

Strong communication skills

Experience in assisted living/geriatric care

Medical terminology knowledge
