Job summary

Hickory Treatment Centers in Corydon, IN is hiring a Medication Technician to support the safe administration and management of client medications under licensed nursing supervision. You will document care, monitor health, and assist with specimen collection in a behavioral health/substance use treatment setting.

The role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with strong communication and teamwork, able to follow strict HIPAA standards and participate in a 2nd/3rd shift schedule

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) program through an accredited nursing school.
• At least two years of prior Medication Aide experience preferred.
• Previous hospital, behavioral health, or substance use treatment experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Document medication administration accurately in the client’s medical record.
• Apply topical medications and administer metered-dose inhalers as directed.
• Administer enemas under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Provide medication-related education and support to clients within the scope of the role.
• Monitor clients for concerns related to medication administration and report findings to licensed nursing staff.
