Job summary

Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab is hiring a Med-Tech to help manage resident medications and daily care in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting in Lancaster County, PA. The role requires strong communication and the ability to assist with dementia-related needs.

Responsibilities include med administration, charting, vital signs, and supporting nursing staff. The position offers a team-focused environment with growth opportunities and a flexible schedule to fit shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication abilities and the physical stamina to assist residents.
• Experience with medical equipment and monitoring patients is preferred.
• Comfort with charting and documenting resident information.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with dementia/alzheimer care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure residents receive medications as prescribed and on time.
• Chart and update resident records accurately.
• Monitor vital signs and document in MAR systems.
• Assist with prescribed activities and mobility.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
• Support nursing staff with diverse care needs.

Responsibilities of a Med-Tech:

• Making sure residents receive medication as prescribed and ordered on time as directed.
• Charting to keep clear and correct up to date information on each resident.
• Monitored, measured and documented patients' vital signs in MAR on the computer.
• Supported treatment goals by assisting clients with prescribed medications, exercises, and ambulation activities.
• Completed frequent cleaning and sanitizing to maintain healthy environment for patients.
• Assisted nursing staff with diverse care needs of dementia and alzheimer residents.
• Responded to patient emergencies and physically stressful situations to restore calm or administer treatments.

Qualifications of a Med-Tech:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Med Tech Certification
• Current certificate in first aid and CPR preferred
• Significant experience working in a home health care environment is strongly preferred
• Good communication skills, excellent conversational skills
• Able to lift heavy objects, help move clients, and perform physical tasks
• Comfortable using medical technologies and lab equipment
