Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO seeks a self-driven Unit Clerk for the Med/Surg department to transcribe physician orders, coordinate tests and support patient flow. The role supports nursing staff, maintains accurate records and ensures timely communication across units.

Qualifications

• Transcribes and documents physicians' orders promptly, accurately and completely.
• Notifies physicians of consults and schedules tests and follow-ups as requested.
• Communicates patient information to ensure continuity of care and proper handoffs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the hospital computer system and accurate order entry.

Responsabilités

• Transcribes STAT and NOW orders first, then prioritizes others.
• Maintains patient charts with correct labels and order segments.
• Coordinates with nursing staff and departments for approved tests.
• Schedules procedures and communicates with admissions on status changes.
• Keeps department logs, files reports, and ensures patient information is up to date.
