Job summary

Qualifications

• Current nursing license in good standing with the state licensing board.
• CPR certification current and active.
• Minimum of one year Med/Surge experience; new grads considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer medications and record dosages as prescribed.
• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments per policy.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment needs.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs accurately.
• Monitor and adjust equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective actions for adverse patient symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Teach patients and families about post-care and home management.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Respond to life-saving situations per nursing standards and protocol.
• Document care information concisely and timely in the proper formats.
• Float among clinical services as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
