Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Medicine Department. The RN will provide high-quality patient care and mentor junior staff, aligning with our faith-based mission.

Responsibilities include educating patients and families, applying evidence-based practices, and coordinating care plans. Maryland RN license, NCLEX, BLS, and 1 year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX exam required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland nursing license.
• Active BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role model to Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Adhere to ANA standards and Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment correctly and delegate non-nursing tasks when appropriate.
• Develop care plans based on patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and act accordingly.
• Mentor students and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding and apply evidence to practice.
• Identify opportunities for clinical improvement and participate in practice changes.
