DirectShifts seeks a Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to join our core team in Lancaster, SC. The role offers flexible scheduling with full-time or part-time opportunities and a contract or temporary employment type depending on context.

Responsibilities include nursing process-based care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Requirements include an accredited nursing program graduate, 1+ year RN experience, SC or compact state RN license, and AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Additional certifications (preferred): AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification, and Crisis Prevention training.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
• Direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care.
• Provide patient/family-centered care focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and environmental needs.
• Maintain safe, therapeutic, and healing environment with patient privacy and professional behavior.
• Participate in shared governance, adherence to standards of care, and ongoing professional development.
• Coordinate effective and efficient delivery of patient care through care management principles.
• Identify clinical priorities and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate professional practice through active participation in governance and leadership.
