Job summary

McPherson Hospital, Inc. seeks a Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality, individualized care in a safe and therapeutic environment across all stages of illness. The role emphasizes patient education, timely documentation, and collaboration with physicians and care teams.

Full‑time, daytime shift. Requires an Associate’s degree in Nursing; BSN preferred. Kansas RN license with BLS verification (within 6 months) and ACLS/PALS (within 6 months) are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (two-year program) or equivalent formal training program.
• Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) preferred.
• Licensed in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient understanding of plan of care and facilitate education during hospital stay.
• Follow established protocols for narcotic and other medication administration ensuring the 5 rights of medication administration.
• Communicate pertinent information related to patients’ condition to inform doctors, nurses and ancillary departments.
• Document concerns, findings, and actions, implementing appropriate care plans related to patient’s diagnosis for continuity of care.
• Assess patient’s condition and monitor changes to ensure appropriate care is given.
