Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Days) at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. The RN will provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, and assisting with diagnostic procedures.

The role requires a valid RN license, BLS, and ideally ACLS within 30 days. Per Diem work with day shifts supports a flexible schedule while delivering high-quality patient care in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current (preferred).
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience (preferred).
• Ventilator management experience (preferred).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 1 Year of RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health.
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators.
• Recognize deterioration signs and respond appropriately.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Act as liaison between patients, families, and healthcare team; meet patient needs.
• Educate patients on condition, treatment options, and recovery plan.
• Communicate with doctors, therapists, and social workers to adjust care plans.
• Epic computer charting.
