Job summary

Northwest Health, Porter Hospital, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Unit. This full-time days role features 36 hours weekly, 12-hour shifts from 7a to 7p, in Porter, Indiana.

The RN provides patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaborates with physicians and the care team to achieve quality outcomes. The role requires RN licensure (state or compact) and BCLS; ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.
• RN licensure in state or compact state; BCLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care following the nursing process and organizational protocols.
• Conduct thorough assessments, document findings, and report changes to the care team.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects; update medical records.
• Educate patients and families; participate in care planning and safety initiatives.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in code team activities as appropriate.
