Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med-Surg at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, VA. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality nursing care and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to monitor and treat patients with diverse medical and surgical needs.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred), current RN license, and at least 1 year of RN experience. BLS is preferred at hire, ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required; 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current state RN license is required; BLS preferred upon hire (ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, chart and assess patient condition.
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to achieve expected outcomes.
• Administer medications safely in line with Mercy Health policies and applicable regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
