Job summary

Advocate Health's 3 West Surgical unit is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time, 36 hours per week with a .9 FTE schedule. The unit handles general surgical and medical cases with 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, offering a pay range of $38.20–$57.30 per hour.

The RN will assess patients, plan and implement care, coordinate discharge, and ensure safety and quality outcomes in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in the practicing state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs using the nursing process and involve family in care planning.
• Monitor patient condition and adjust care plans as changes occur.
• Promote patient safety and educate patient and family as needed.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the care team.
• Deliver care consistent with nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively and resolve conflicts within the team.
• Support governance activities and process improvements.
• Demonstrate ethical decision-making and professional collaboration.
