Overview

Locum Tenens Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) -- Night Shift in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This 13-week travel nursing job offers night shifts at a Joint Commission Accredited hospital, providing clinical support in a Level IV Trauma Center. Located in Las Cruces, NM, you will work in a Med/Surg Unit with orthopedic and cardiac monitoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients, including orthopedic and cardiac monitoring.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status and progress using Meditech EHR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive clinical support.
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and New Mexico state regulations.
• Participate in weekly orientation (Mondays) and ongoing nursing training.

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for New Mexico (New Mexico RN jobs).
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Ortho and EKG experience required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, HWC (must be obtained prior to start).
• Fingerprinting and background check required per New Mexico state regulations.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work with diverse patient populations (all ages).
• Ability to wear scrubs (any color); casual wear not permitted.

Job Details

• Location: Las Cruces, NM 88011 (New Mexico nursing jobs).
• Healthcare Setting: Med/Surg Unit – Level IV Trauma Center.
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/1/2025 – End: 12/1/2025).
• Nursing Shift: 12 Hour Nights (19:00-07:00).
• Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed).
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed.
• Floating: Required to float to other Med/Surg units.
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech.

Compensation

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1840.
