Progress West Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses. The role supports a team caring for patients in a 24-hour emergency and medical/surgical setting.

Location is near St. Charles County, with 36 hours per week and night shifts (6:30pm–7:00am). Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and CNA certification; experience preferred but not required.

• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities with correct medical terminology. May act as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participates in professional development.

Overview

Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare's newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children's Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.

Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.

Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital's medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care to support the licensed professional nurses responsible for a team of patients to ensure a safe environment for patients by reducing risk of harm. Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the nursing team which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient's condition.

• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
