Job summary

South University in Round Rock, TX invites applications for a campus-based instructor who will deliver course instruction, align to the university model, and contribute to a learning-centered environment. You will design instructional plans, use technology to enhance student learning, and evaluate outcomes to support student success.

Required are a master's degree, PhD preferred, and an unencumbered RN license with 0–2 years of teaching or formal education experience.

Qualifications

PhD in a field related to the classes taught preferred; master's degree required
0–2 years’ experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution
Experience in Medical/Surgical required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations
Outstanding conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills
Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills)
Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines
Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents
Ability to perform with legal and ethical boundaries

Responsibilities

Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of course outcomes
Design and deliver instruction through instructional plans and activities
Effectively utilize technology in the classroom to support student learning
Deliver learning-centered instruction and plan for classes and student success
Maintain accurate records and submit grades on time
Relate professional experience to learning and engage students in the learning process
Participate in the faculty development process to enhance knowledge and skills
