Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System in Elizabethtown, NC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care under RN supervision. The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, medication administration, and maintaining patient records in Medical Surgical units.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current NC Licensed Practical Nurse license or Compact state license.
• Positive interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessment of patient.
• Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care.
• Follows patient’s plan of care while participating in the direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Administers medication as ordered by physician.
• Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient care.
• Maintains required competencies.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors the quality of care.
