Job summary

Saint John Hospital, Inc. in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a Medical/Surgical Unit LPN to deliver direct patient care within a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role features 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and dedicated patient advocacy. You will collaborate with RNs and physicians to monitor patients, administer medications, assist with discharge planning, and uphold infection control and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• IV certification upon hire (state-specific).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene support, mobility assistance, and comfort measures.
• Monitor vital signs, document observations, and report changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications as prescribed and observe for reactions or side effects.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and assist with procedures within the state LPN scope.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and the care team to support individualized care plans.
• Assist with discharge planning and provide patient/family education on treatments and recovery.
• Follow infection control practices and maintain accurate patient records.
